Ruth’s Obituary Ruth M. Pettijohn Ruth M. Pettijohn, age 90 of Gatesville, passed away surrounded by her family on May 14, 2019, in Waco, TX. Graveside services will be 4:00 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2019 at Restland Cemetery. Ruth was born on September 22, 1928 in Turnersville, TX to the late William M. McDonald and Roxie Schults McDonald.

She grew up in Gatesville, attending Gatesville High School graduating with the class of 1946. After high school Ruth went to work at the local telephone company. She married Riley Parr in 1946; they were married 17 years before he preceded her in death.

Ruth married Paul Pettijohn in 1968. They celebrated 50 years of marriage this past November 2018. Ruth was a very loving soul who blessed so many throughout her life with her compassionate, nurturing ways.

She had a passion for serving the Lord and doing his good deeds and this lifelong passion was her driving force. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her six siblings. Ruth is survived by her husband, Paul Pettijohn; daughter Karen Maxwell and husband Mark of Cedar Creek, TX; grandsons Alexander Maxwell and wife Alexandria Alyssa of San Antonio, TX and Isaac Maxwell of Tomball, TX; great-grandchildren, Lillian and Gwyneth Maxwell.
