Obituary for Ruth Sanchez Ruth Sanchez March 23, 1935 – September 26, 2018 Ruth Sanchez of Denver, Colorado went home to be with The Lord on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 in Wheatridge, Colorado. Ruth was born March 23, 1935 in Crestone, Colorado to Joe and Rufinita Atencio. She is survived by two sisters, Priscilla (Eugene) Sanders and Frances Boatwright, her children Anthony (Tonya) Sanchez and Sylvia (Delbert) Menzor, eleven grandchildren, Stepheno (Brandy) Sanchez, Stephanie Vargas, Michael Vargas, Jessica Vargas, Alyssa Ortegon, Antonia Sanchez, Nathanial Sanchez, Alexandra Jimenez, Amanda Gonzales, Eric Gonzales, and Aidan Moody great grandchildren, Josiah Vargas, Isabella Vargas, Apollo Montoya, Stepheno Sanchez Jr., Ronan Sanchez, Cattelya Martinez, & Analiyah Martinez, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends.

Ruth was a long time resident of Del Norte, Colorado where she lived prior to moving to Denver, Colorado. She taught her children a strong work ethic, the enjoyment of a simple life and the importance of family. She also emphasized the importance of prayer, respect, kindness and love.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; Joe and Rufinita Atencio, her siblings, Cecilia Torres, Max Atencio, Prese Atencio, John Atencio, Richard (Pogo) Atencio, and Rudy Atencio. Services will be held at Romero’s Family Funeral Home, 4750 Tejon St., Denver, CO 80211 on October 5, 2018. Viewing at 9-10AM, Funeral Service at 10AM, with a reception immediately following.
