Rut Ailen Kempen , November 16, 1956 — December 03, 2018

Ruth A. Kempen, 62, a former longtime resident of Forest Grove, late of Cornelius, died Monday afternoon, December 3, 2018 at the Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro. Private Interment Rites will be held at the Mt. View Memorial Gardens, 499 Watercrest Road in Forest Grove.

RUTH AILENE KEMPEN was born November 16, 1956 in Hillsboro, Oregon, the daughter of the late Francis Wilbert Kempen and Lucille (Evers) Kempen. She was raised and received her education in the Forest Grove community, having been a graduate of the Forest Grove High School Class of 1976. She had made her home in Cornelius with the Bethesda Lutheran Community.

Ruth was lifelong member of St. Anthony’s Parish in Forest Grove. Among her special interests, she enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening and walking. Ruth also had a special love for her cat, “Allie”, as well as socializing with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Lucille Kempen and her sister, Mary Lyon in 1984. Survivors include her six siblings and their spouses, Alan and Kathy Kempen, of Port Orchard, Washington; Neil Kempen, of Spokane, Washington; Lois and David Jurhs, of Hillsboro, Oregon; Jean LeMire and Brian Done, of Forest Grove, Oregon; Lynn and Clayton Kubota, of Honolulu, Hawaii and Mark and Vilma Kempen, of Cape Coral, Florida. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
