Obituary for Ruthann McDonald Ruthann McDonald, 75, of Smithtown, NY, passed away July 1, 2018 on her wedding anniversary. Beloved wife of the late John. Loving mother to John and the late Casey.

Cherished sister of Francis (Patricia), Paul (Carleen), and William. She is loved and will be missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Ruthann was a selfless and nurturing soul who brought much light into the world.

On the happiest days, she outshone the sun with her unforgettable smile and laughter. In the darker and gloomier times, she was an inextinguishable beacon of love, hope, strength, and faith. Her devotion to helping others was evident in her career as a special education teacher for Deer Park Public Schools and her volunteer work for her beloved faith community at St. Thomas More Parish.

Ruthann was an avid traveler and a passionate fan of the Giants, Mets, and Duke Blue Devils. Nothing made her happier than spending time with those she loved.
