Obituary for Salvatore J. DeLieto Salvatore J. DeLieto of Danbury, CT passed away on September 12, 2018. He was born in Yonkers, NY on November 3, 1950 to Salvatore and Antoinette DeLieto. Salvatore married the love of his life Theresa Vitrit on August 8, 1970 at St. Ann’s Church, Yonkers.

Beloved husband of Theresa DeLieto; loving father of Valerie (Lou) Vernagallo, Domonique (Martin) Carrillo and Justene (Nicholas) Capodice; cherished grandfather of Jayden, Angelique, Cameron, Louie and Noelle; fond son in law of Antoinette Vitrit; dear brother of Neil DeLieto, Sallyann Fatone, Laurie Rienzi, Lucy Pirro, Antoinette Mitrione and Gina Bruno; proud Godfather of six godchildren, also survived by many nieces and nephews. Salvatore was an over 40 year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers where he was recently honored by Local 137 for his professional expertise. He was considered a true mentor who was highly respected by his fellow co-workers.

Salvatore was known to always be the ‘teacher’ on the job site. He was the over-all handyman who no matter what he was “fixing”, it had to right, a perfectionist. The family will honor Salvatore’s life on Wednesday September 19, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at the Yorktown Funeral Home, 945 E. Main St., Shrub Oak, NY 10588.
