Sammy “Sam” Neil Yoder of Attica, Indiana formerly of Morocco passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at IU Arnett Health Care in Lafayette, Indiana on Monday March 18, 2019. Sam was born April 24, 1944 in Morocco to Russell and Ruth (Taylor) Yoder. He grew up in Morocco, attended Morocco schools, played the trombone in the high school band and graduated in 1962 from the Morocco High School.

Sam worked as a heavy equipment operator at Harrison Steel in Attica, also worked for Smith Farm Store in Rensselaer and at Morocco Feed Service. He served in the National Guard for 6 years and was a member of the Wabash Valley Baptist Church in Attica. Sam loved pets, especially dogs and had a dog at his side most of his life.

He also collected John Deere items and loved attending tractor and antique shows. He was a loving brother, uncle, faithful friend and a real people person. To Sam you were only a stranger the first time he met you.

Sam is survived by one daughter Stacy (Ed) Mosca of Dyer, Indiana, one sister Sue (Husband Donald) Dresel. Also surviving are nephews Jerod Wagner and Nathan (Wife Windy) Wagner and great nephews Dillon, Colton and Colin Wagner. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may visit with the family Thursday March 21, 2019 from 10:00 AM (CST) till Noon, Funeral services to be conducted Thursday March 21, 2019 at Noon with Pastor Dave Adams officiating. Burial will follow at the Prairie Vine Cemetery in Newton County. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wabash Valley Baptist Church in Attica, Indiana.
