She was born December 10, 1950 in Mercedes, TX to Jose Cruz Cavazos and Cohinta Torres. She was a lifelong resident of Santa Rosa, TX.

San Juanita worked as an early childhood educator for the Santa Rosa ISD for 30 years and four years with NINOS Headstart in Santa Rosa and six years at La Feria. Her passion was working with children. She leaves behind to cherish her beautiful memory her loving and devoted husband of 45 years, Lorenzo Rodriguez, two sons, Phillip Rodriguez (Beatriz), and Oscar Rodriguez (Susie), grandchildren, Phillip Rodriguez Jr., Ashtin Nathaniel Rodriguez and Scarlett Evangelina Rodriguez, two sisters, Antonia Cavazos and Maria Gonzalez.

She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. San Juanita is preceded in death by her parents and a brother in law, Julio Gonzalez. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Phillip Rodriguez, Oscar Rodriguez, Julio Gonzalez III, Omar Gonzalez Jr., Omar Gonzalez Sr. and Ashtin Nathaniel Rodriguez.

Visitation will be held today December 20, 2018 from 1 pm to 9 pm with a prayer of the holy rosary at 7 pm tonight. Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday December 21, 2018 at 10 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Santa Rosa. Interment will follow to Santo Nombre Cemetery.
