OBITUARY Sandra Brown Knox June 28, 1942 – January 27, 2019 COLUMBIA – A funeral service for Sandra Brown Knox, 76, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Olympia Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Being born at home in the Olympia Community in 1942, she was raised by her grandparents, Josh and Henrietta Brown, along with numerous aunts and uncles.

Her parents were the late William Monroe Brown and Lillie Mae Dennis Johnson. Sandra attended Olympia School grades 1-12 and graduated high school in 1961, and graduated from Midlands Technical College in 1980. She held numerous church secretary jobs over the years.

Sandra was predeceased by her husband, George “Larry” Knox, who passed away 15 years ago, and by her daughter, Brenda Knox, who passed in 1964. She is survived by her daughter, Shannon Leigh Knox; son, George B. Knox (Wendy); and grandchildren, Zachary Knox (Lauren) and Shelby Knox. She is also survived by her puppy, Lucy; sister, Christine Hancock; best friend, Judy Cooper; cousins, Lynn Mathers, Allan Clamp, Tony Clamp, and numerous other cousins; two nieces; and her brother-in-law.
