Sandra’s Obituary Sandra K. Rush was born in Holly Springs, MS. , on December 1, 1959 to Leon Jeffries and Bernice (Autrey) Simelton. The family moved from Holly springs, MS.

, to Cairo, IL in the 60’s . Sandra was one out 10 siblings, seven brothers and two two sisters. She attended Holy City Church of God in Christ in Cairo, IL.

She rededicated her life and left this present world on Sunday May 26, 2019 confessing her faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. Sandra spent many years working as a Certified Nurse Assistant and later worked as a factory worker in Jackson, MO. , she also maintained various employments throughout the years.

Her most important role in life was her dedication and unconditional love for her family and friends. Sandra took pride in caring for others and extending herself to anyone that needed her assistance. She was married to her life long love Kenneth Rush, SR.

She was preceded in death by her father Leon Jeffries, brothers; Gene Martin, Joe Simelton, Steve Simelton, special brothers and sisters-in-law and two granddaughters Amiya Lee and Avielle Strayhorn. Sandra leaves to cherish her memories her husband Kenneth F. Rush, her mother Bernice Simelton, five children : Carissa (Jimmy) Strayhorn of Horn Lake, MS.

, Kenneth Rush, Jr., Jamond Rush, Sanara Rush, Jheric Rush , one stepson Kamunde Sharp. Six siblings: Larry Martin, Janice Russell, Katherine Simelton, John (Ernestine) Simelton, Roy Simelton and Kenneth Simelton. She also leaves five grandchildren, bonus siblings, special friends like sisters and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and other relatives and friends.

Services for Sandra K. Rush will be held on Saturday June 1, 2019 at the Christ Temple Church of God in Christ in Cairo, IL at 11:00 a.m. with Elder Terry Holder officiating. Friends may call on saturday at the Chruch from 10:00 a.m until the Funeral hour at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Green Lawn Memorial Garden in Villa Ridge, IL. Professional Services were under the direction of Massie Funeral Home in Mounds, IL.
