Scott James, age 97, of Dandridge, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019. He was a retiree of Sears, Roebuck and Company, a member of Edgemont Church of God and an Army veteran of WWII. Scott was a woodworker and an avid fisherman that loved to fish Douglas Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Alice Sutton James, sons; Carrol, Jesse and Michael James, brothers; Roy Ralph, Ray, Junior, and Creed James and a sister; Edna Swann. He is survived by his wife of 50 years; Frances Whitaker James, sons and daughter in-law; Steve James and Dennis (Tammy) James, grandchildren; Jesse James, Carla (Randy) Long, David James, Angelia James and Kelly Andrews, sister; Essie Moore and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Farrar Funeral Home of Dandridge Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 11am until 1pm.

The funeral service will be at 2pm at Hills Union Church with Pastor Mark Hatley and Pastor Jimmy Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Hills Union Cemetery with military honors.
