Lyke, 54, of Newberry, died Friday morning May 17, 2019 at the residence of his mother, Kay, while under the care of his loving family and North Woods Hospice. Born June 8, 1964 in Ann Arbor, son of George Dewey Jr. and Kay (Brooks) Lyke, Sean was a 1982 graduate of Newberry High School and attended Northwestern Community College in Traverse City. Sean worked with his father and later owned and operated 4 Mile Graphics and East End Sports Awards north of Newberry.

Sean was a member of the Newberry Elks Lodge #1705 since 1985 and assumed the position of kitchen manager for the Lodge in 2009. His dedication to the Lodge as kitchen manager as well as honoring members with awards and plaques from his business awarded him Outstanding Elk of the Year awards twice in the 2012/2013 and 2016/2017 Lodge years for his excellence in his duties of going above and beyond for the good of the Lodge and its’ members. Sean was an avid Detroit Lions, Red Wings and Tigers fan along with the Michigan State University Spartans.

Sean also enjoyed the outdoors especially bird hunting in the fall with his Brittney companion dogs. In his leisure time, he enjoyed being at home watching movies and crime shows, trivia and crossword puzzles. Sean had a great love for his family and enjoyed the time spent with his four children and grandson Dewey.

Sean is preceded in death by his father George Dewey Lyke Jr. Survivors include his children Aaron of Newberry, Kassandra of Emigrant, Montana, Kara of Newberry and Adrianna of Newberry; grandson Dewey Richard Hittle of Newberry; mother Kay Maddox of Newberry; brother Grant of Ishpeming; nieces Taylor (Dalton) Fisher of Negaunee, Sarah Lyke of Marquette and Alexis Lyke of Ishpeming; several aunts, uncles and cousins. A gathering of family and friends will take place at the Newberry Elks Lodge #1705 on Wednesday May 22, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. An Elks Memorial Service conducted by the members of the Lodge will be held at 6:00 pm.

Memorials may be directed to Newberry Elks Lodge #1705 Scholarship Fund in his memory. Condolences may be expressed at www. beaulieufuneralhome.com.
