Obituary for SGT. Raul Rangel, Sr., USMC SGT. Raul Rangel, USMC Sr. age 69, went to be with the Lord on November 20, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas at the Audie L. Murphy Memorial VA Hospital, surrounded by his beloved family.

He was born on April 24, 1949 in Del Rio, Texas. Raul served his country honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War conflict. He was also a proud member of Living Stone Worship Center.

Raul’s hobbies included hunting, fishing and working on his old truck. Raul also loved spending time with his German Shepherd, “Rambo”. Preceding him in death was his father, Ramon Rangel; mother, Bernardina Salazar; and step-father, Felix Salazar.

He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 19 years, Rosemary Rangel of Del Rio; sons, Raul J. Lopez of CA, Che Lopez (Patricia) of Escondido, CA, Raul Rangel Jr. of Dallas, TX; daughters, Jessica Rubio (Martin) of San Diego, CA, and Valencia Gilbert (Sedrick) of Dallas, Tx; step-sons: CMSGT. Eric I. Gaona, USAF, (Mary) of Abilene, TX, Arthur Jimenez Sr. (Yana) of Laredo, TX; brother, Juan Ramon Rangel (Maria Leticia) of Del Rio. Raul is also survived by: 28 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Visitations will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Trinity Chapel of Faith. A Prayer Service will begin at 7 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Living Stone Worship Center with Lead Pastor Martin Seca as the officiant. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
