Shawn Douglas Wheelis was born in Lakeland, Florida to Leonard and Carolyn Wheelis on March 13, 1973. He entered into his final rest on December 28, 2018 in Lakeland, Florida. Shawn is preceded in his passing by his father.

He is succeeded in his passing by his mother, Carolyn Gay (Mulberry) and his sister Selina Wilson (Tracy) of (Mulberry). Shawn could be seen anywhere fixing random bicycles for any of the neighborhood children and never asking for any financial compensation, he simply helped because he had a gift to fix things and to help others. Shawn had a large heart and a willingness to help others in need.

Shawn was an avid fisherman with his most recent catch being the 6 pound bass he caught in the pond right outside his mother’s home. Shawn was a great all around person, he gave all he could to everyone he could with whatever he could. Shawn is now with his heavenly father and will be missed by all here on earth.

A celebration of life is being planned by the family at a later date.
