Sheila V. Duran (Webb), 62, from Canon City, Colorado, was sent home to be with the Lord on May 4, 2019 after a long road of battling against “Toxic Encephalopathy”. Sheila was born on January 23, 1957 to James and Lynn Webb of Kenosha Wisconsin. Sheila was a very creative and educated woman, some may know her as “The Seamstress” around town.
Her love for sewing and being a tailor was a lifelong passion. Starting as one of the first instructors for the DOC sewing department at the Centennial Correctional facility, she continued to share and gift her talents with those around her. Sheilaʼs love and joy for sewing kept going as she was also a pioneer for starting a small business quilting with photos.
Another passion of hers was her love for children. Whether it was raising her own or being a foster parent. Sheila took pride in helping children and anyone in need, her heart and arms were always open to those in need.
She was always giving what she could, in every moment. Living her life in faith and love. She had many jobs and passions, all of which were helping others like working with Headstart, the Crisis Center and being an ombudsman with the Fremont County Upper Arkansas Area Council of Governments.
Sheila even at one point owned a candy story, in Evergreen, CO loving and enjoying every moment. Whenever she wasnʼt working she enjoyed many hobbies whether it was quilting, being an artist whether painting or drawing, sewing, hiking, making jewelry, reading and writing books/screenplays. She also loved to learn, study and research anything that she found interesting.
Sheila loved to listen to music, play the Banjo, read the bible, dance and had a smile and moves that would light up the room. Sheilaʼs wisdom and deep conversations with her children shaped and continue to teach them important lessons of life and love.
