She was born March 1, 1961 to the late David Lee Hogan and Betty Tillman-Hogan in Bogalusa, Louisiana. Shelia is the third of nine children, seven girls and two boys.

She attended and graduated from Bogalusa High School. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and attended Second Missionary Baptist Church. She grew up in Second Missionary Baptist Church where she attended Sunday school, sang in choir, and worked with the children in vacation bible school.

Sheila rededicated her life to the Lord and was a faithful servant. She was united in marriage to the late Tillmer Pittman and together they raised four children: Duane Hogan, Brian Hogan, Na’tarshish “Mekia” Hogan, and Tillman “Ham” Pittman. She was known for her kindness, her beautiful smile, and her sweet personality. If you knew Shelia, you would remember a person full of love and compassion for others. She was truly loved by her family and friends.

Shelia helped many young adults who didn’t have a place to stay. You would walk in her home and see different faces and she would look at you and say, “They didn’t have a place to stay”. They would stay until they were back on their feet.
