Shelton Eugene Smith Jr., 64, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, March 7, 2019 at home. A celebration of life party will be held at a later date. Entombment at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley.

Mr. Smith was born in Wayne County on July 18, 1954 to Shelton Eugene Smith Sr. and the late Peggy Crawford Smith. He was retired from the Wayne County Public Schools System. He is survived by his father, Shelton Eugene Smith Sr. and wife, Charlotte of Goldsboro; his wife, Diane Horne Smith; one son, Ryan Eugene Smith of Goldsboro; two step-sons, Troy Horne of Goldsboro and Randy Horne of Iowa; one brother, Jon Smith of Massachusetts; two sisters, Carolyn Smith Wegman of Goldsboro and Katherine Grant of Goldsboro; six grandchildren, Owen Smith, Tressa Jeffreys, Tana King, Hanna Horne, Aaron Horne and Caleb Horne and one great-grandchild, Raelynn King.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
