Sherry Darlene (Thalman) Smith, of Russellton, West Deer Township, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday January 11, 2019 at the age of 73. Sherry was born September 16, 1943 in Curtisville, West Deer Township where she has lived the majority of her life. Sherry was integral is forming the West Deer Food bank in 1982 and the DARE program in West Deer Township.

She was also a paramedic for the West Deer Ambulance Service and was very active in community service. She retired from the state VA Hospital System in the late 2000’s. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Edward D. Smith; Sister Violet Jane Calvino of Scottsdale, Arizona; Sons Paul and Amy Smith, of Fenelton, PA, Michael Smith of Monroe Michigan; Grandchildren; Shane Michael Smith of Brackenridge, PA and Missy Ziesemer of Washington State.

She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Cora Thalman of Curtisville, PA; Sister, Connie Zamora of California and Brother Bill Thalman also of California. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 pm Monday Jan. 14th with services at 7:30, with the Rev.

Richard E. Wise, officiating, at the Siwicki-Yanicko Funeral Home, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, Pa 15076. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the West Deer Food Bank, PO Box 173, Russellton, PA 15076.
