Locke, Shirley A. {Baxter}, age 72 of Piqua, Ohio, passed away Wednesday May 8, 2019 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, OH. Born May 16, 1946 in Franklin, Ohio to George Murray Baxter and Doris Audrey Zerby. Shirley was a teacher’s aide for special needs children with the Montgomery County MRDD and Riverside in Troy.

She is preceded in death by her parents and adopted father, Kenneth Bell and son Michael Locke in 2015. Surviving are her sons, David Locke, Tipp City, OH and Jason (Amber) Locke, West Milton, OH, daughter-in-law, Rosario Locke, Tijuana, MX, brothers, Benny (Kay) McGuire, Mason, OH and Henry, Desi and Tommy. Six grandchildren Cody and Jenny Schmidt; Adam and Michelle Locke; Claudia Clemente and Gavrina Locke.

Also surviving are her boyfriend Bill Yohey and his daughter Gale {Yohey} Garwood who was very special and helpful. As well as her ex-husband and friend, Richard Locke. Shirley had a big heart, loved the outdoors and animals especially wildlife.

She was part Cherokee Indian and enjoyed studying Indian history. Shirley has an impressive collection of Indian artifact and loved to research ancestry and took pride in the fact she was a distant relative of Daniel Boone. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday May 20, 2019 at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371.

Pastor Andy Warren officiating with burial to follow in Newcomer Cemetery, Franklin Township, OH. Visitation 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Sunday May 19, 2019 at the Frings and Bayliff.
