Obituary for Shirley A. Mitchell Shirley A. Mitchell, age 80, of Muncie, Indiana passed away at the home of her son on Friday, September 21, 2018. Shirley was born in Rensselaer, Indiana on December 8, 1937, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Allen) Anderson. Shirley attended Rensselaer Central High School.

While living in Rensselaer, she worked at both Sealy Springs and Peerless Cleaners. She moved to Muncie in 1978 and worked 14 years as a unit secretary at Ball Memorial Hospital. Shirley was affiliated with Grace Baptist Church in Muncie.

Surviving is her loving family, son’s Jim (Kim) Mitchell and Kevin Mitchell (partner Dan Thomas), grandson Brandon Mitchell and a brother Curt Anderson. The family wishes to express their deepest thanks to her care giver Rhonda for the loving care given to Shirley. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mary Anderson, a son Dale Mitchell and daughter RoxAnn Mitchell, three sisters, Mable Gluth, Genny Yeoman and Ella Eaton and two brothers, Bob Anderson and Chuck Anderson.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (CDT) on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Jackson Funeral Chapel in Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. (CDT) at the Jackson Funeral Chapel with Pastor Daniel Hester officiating. Burial will follow at Weston Cemetery in Rensselaer.
