Shirley A. Riggle, 78, of Jersey Shore, passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, at the Rose View Center, Williamsport. Born February 16, 1940 in Williamsport, she was a daughter to the late Elmer E. Myers and the former Ida Mae Baker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Riggle Jr., on Jan. 16, 2016, and her sister, Charlotte J. Smith. She was a member of Saint Marks Lutheran Church in Williamsport and retired from Shop-Vac after 40 years of service.

Shirley enjoyed listening to and going to country music shows, especially Whisperin’ Bill Anderson. She took pleasure in preparing large meals for family and holiday gatherings. Many people raved over her potato and macaroni salads, along with her green dessert.

Her greatest joy in life was watching her son and later her grandchildren participate in all of their activities. Whether it was scouting, music/theater performances or the many athletic competitions they were involved in. She rarely missed any of the events, and was always ready to make the many road trips with her son to attend the events.

Surviving are her son, Frank A. (Tracey) Rose, of Linden; grandchildren, Maura, Chelsea and Frank Jr.; and three brothers, Frank E. Myers, of Jersey Shore, Grant (Kathy) Myers, of Linden and Merton Myers, of Williamsport. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service, Saturday at Welker Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Kerry Aucker will officiate.

She will be laid to rest in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests making contributions to the Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police Department’s Toys for Tots Christmas Drive at 129 S. Pennsylvania Ave. , Jersey Shore, PA 17740.
