SHIRLEY ANN CLAYTON KENION age 76, of 250 Wiley Lunsford Road, Rougemont, NC died Monday night, April 29, 2019 at her home. Mrs. Kenion was born August 11, 1942 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Ulysses “Buck” & Irma Bowes Clayton and wife of 43 years to Clyde Franklin Kenion who survives. She was retired from Firstmark Aerospace Corp.

and was a member of Somerset Baptist Church. Shirley enjoyed reading, fellowship with her church family, shopping with her sisters, helping out at the Senior Center and vacation bible school, sending birthday and sympathy cards, but she was happiest spending time with her family. Surviving in addition to her husband are two children, Vickie Walker Neumann of Roxboro, NC, Kelvin Walker of Nashville, NC, four step-children, Eugene Kenion & wife, Sandy, Frankie Kenion & wife, Crystal, Nina Kenion, Lisa Kenion, six grandchildren, Brandi Neumann & boyfriend, Brad Riters, Derrick Walker, Daniel Walker & girlfriend, Kelly Roach, Jessica Walker & boyfriend, Blake Whitt, Kayla Walker, Lee Walker, ten great grandchildren, Scott-Alan Deyo, Joseph Deyo, Brysen Riters, Kaitlynn Deyo, Alana Walker, Kirstein Roach, Tyler Roach, Jayden Roach, Chloe Whitt, Maverick Whitt, four sisters, Corene C. Whitfield of Bahama, NC, Sandra C. Martin of Roxboro, NC, Patricia C. Newton & husband, Boyd, Joan C. Champion all of Timberlake, NC, two sisters-in-law, Louanne C. Clayton, Sadie Clayton, and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kenion is preceded in death by three children, Larry Walker, Greg Walker, Teresa Lane, grandparents, John & Della Bowes, and C.C. & Bertha A. Clayton, four brothers, Basil Clayton, Fred Clayton, Thomas Clayton, Gary Clayton, and sister, Madgelene Clayton Wrenn. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2019 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Tom Gearhart officiating.

Interment will follow in the Person Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home. Pallbearers will be Daniel Walker and members of the Nickie Allen Sunday School Class.
