OBITUARY Shirley Ann Knecht April 22, 1936 – November 11, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Shirley Ann Knecht, a life-long resident of Winter Haven, passed away peacefully on November 11th, 2018 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, Florida. She was born on April 22nd, 1936 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Lawrence Elmer, Sr. and Edna Mae (Morrison) Fowler. She was a 1954 graduate of Kirkwood High School.

She married the love of her life Roy Elmer Knecht on August 10th, 1957 in St. Louis Missouri. Shirley is survived by her sons Mike Knecht, and wife Patricia of Stuart, FL, Kevin Wells-Knecht, of Glenmoore, PA, and Greg Knecht and wife Angela of, Monticello, FL and grandchildren, Trevor and Rachele. Shirley is preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents, her brothers Lawrence Elmer (L.E.) Fowler, John William (Bill) Fowler, Dennis (Teddy) Fowler and her sister Ferne Livell.

Shirley loved children. In addition to raising her sons she was a second mother to Rena Lynn and Russell Croker, who she loved as her own. Shirley most enjoyed simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family over coffee, playing bridge, gardening, and feeding the collection of animals that visited her back fence.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Shirley touched are invited to the Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, 645 West Central Ave, Winter Haven, FL, from 3 p.m.- 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 1st, 2018, to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Treasure Coast Hospice.
