Shirley M. (Brewer) Humphreys, 93, of Holbrook, died November 1, 2018. A graduate of Columbia University, she worked as a registered nurse for 43 years, starting her career at Phaneuf Hospital and later retiring from Brockton Hospital, working nights in the maternity ward. She was an animal lover and enjoyed knitting and cross-stitching.

Shirley was the devoted mother of Pamela Humphreys (and Bruce Holmquist) of West Bridgewater, Robert Humphreys (and Paula Connolly) of Swansea, and the late Ernest Humphreys; dear grandmother of Kara Jennings, Lisa Humphreys, and Timothy Humphreys; great-grandmother of Drew Jennings, Kyle Jennings, Cody Humphreys, Joseph Humphreys, and Annabelle Humphreys; and the sister of the late George Brewer. All are welcome to calling hours Sunday, Nov. 11th from 1-3 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. service in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton.

Private committal. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd. , Waltham, MA 02452.
