OBITUARY SHIRLEY CLARK November 2, 1934 – January 22, 2019 It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley Clark announces her passing on January 22, 2019. She was 84 years old, born November 2, 1934, to the late AJ and Margaret Galbreath. She grew up in Goodlettsville, TN on Walker’s Creek where she attended Goodlettsville High School.

She attended Middle Tennessee State University where she met her husband. She enjoyed a 27 year career at Cumberland Law School where she served as a secretary to numerous deans and facility professors. She grew up a Methodist but joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and served well as a minister’s wife.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 63 years, J. Don Clark; two daughters, Kimberly Clark and Kay Crook (Ricky); three grandchildren, Nicholas Crook (Emily), Allie Crook and Kayla Mears (Chris). She is also survived by her three brothers, Bob Galbreath, Hugh Galbreath (Virginia) and Tom Galbreath (Cheryl) who she loved dearly, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She truly was an extraordinary lady who brought joy, comfort and peace to everyone she met, especially her family and friends.

A Celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at 11:00 am. on January 25, 2019 at Ridout’s Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL 35209, burial will follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Reverend Duwayne Pounds will officiate.

Memorial donations in memory of Shirley can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1100 Ireland Way, Birmingham, AL 35205.
