Obituary for Mrs. Shirley Conner Shiflett Shirley Conner Shiflett, 79, of Tallahassee, peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018, while surrounded by her loving family. A daughter of the late Samuel and Margaret Ann Pridgeon Conner, she was born in Tifton, Georgia on December 9, 1938. Also preceding her in death are her husband of 50 years, Al D. Shiflett; great-granddaughter, Hailey Kennedy; and brother, Ed Conner.

She worked in the Guidance Office at Springwood Elementary School for 30 years and loved to cook. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sharry and Ted Handley, Tallahassee; son, Alan Shiflett, Tallahassee; grandchildren, Lori Handley, Carrollton, Georgia, Lisa and Scott Carson, Tallahassee, Shelby Handley, Tallahassee, Amber Shiflett, Tallahassee; great-grandchildren, Lacey and Cliff Bostic, Crawfordville, Savannah and Evan Arrington-Tsao, Athens, Georgia, Connor Kennedy, Tallahassee and Olivia Kennedy, Tallahassee; and two great-great-grandchildren. The funeral is 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at Abbey Funeral Home, with visitation from 12:00 until 1:00.

Interment follows at Tallahassee Memory Gardens, with Chris Kenny, Curt Stralow, Brian Wilder, Justin Watson, Connor Kennedy and Tim Hawkins serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Covenant Hospice. Online condolences may be expressed at www.
