Obituary for Shirley E. Newhall (Staveley) THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF SHIRLEY E. NEWHALL FORT MEYERS FL, – Shirley Edith (Staveley) Newhall age 89 formerly of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at the Shell Point Hospice Unit in Fort Meyers FL after a brief illness. She was the widow of B. Allen Newhall who passed away on December 17, 1994. Shirley was born on December 25, 1929 in Lowell MA, the daughter of the late Ernest T and Edith (Brown) Staveley.

She was a graduate of Lowell High School and settled in Naugatuck after her husband’s tour of duty with the US Navy. She worked at SNET for over 30 years as a Telephone Operator and was a member of SNET Pioneers and the Order of the Eastern Star. She and Al wintered in Florida for many years and retired to Seminole FL in 1990.

She enjoyed the ocean and she loved life to the fullest through the simple pleasures of life. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. She is survived by her children; Jo Ann Casey of Waterbury and Largo FL, Denise Cook and her husband, Dick of Cape Coral FL and Mark Newhall of Largo FL.

She also leaves her grandchildren; Sarah, Jonathan and Rachel as well as her great grandchildren; Eva, Alana, Raiden and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services for Mrs. Newhall will be private and held at the convenience of her family in Florida. Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St @Southmayd Rd Waterbury CT 06705 has been privileged to assist with arrangements.
