Shirley June (Howells) Schuster Shirley June Schuster, 91, of Dublin, Ohio, entered life eternal on February 4, 2019, surrounded by family and friends. She was born June 4, 1927, in Lorain, Ohio, the daughter of the late Anna and Thomas Howells. She was the third of four siblings.

Shirley was preceded in death by her brother Robert, her sister Doris, and her grandson John Donovan Schuster. Shirley was married to Donovan George Schuster for 57 years. He preceded her in death in 2010.

She is survived by her sister Nancy (Howells) Olsen and brother-in-law Grant Olsen of Rapid City, SD; her sons Richard (Gretl) of Dublin, OH, Robert (Jacqueline) of McKinney, TX, and Mark (Paul De George) of Huntington Beach, CA; her grandchildren Sarah (Michael) Kuhnell, Grant Schuster, Joshua Schuster, Anne (Austin) Bingman, and Elisabeth (Michael) DeLasalle, and her great grandchildren August and Meret Kuhnell, Hazel and Elisabeth Bingman and Brodie DeLasalle. She is also survived by nieces and nephews Don (Kathy) Harris, Terri Mattey, Karen (Tim Stevenson) Greni, Kristen (Chris) Rivera), Mark (Irene) Olsen, John Warzecha, Chuck (Judy) Bodie and many loved great and great-great nieces and nephews, and special friend Loretta Rolle. Shirley graduated from Lorain High School in 1944 and she worked tirelessly during World War II on War Bond campaigns and received a commendation for her efforts.

She devoted her life to raising her family and serving others. Shirley took great pleasure in her later years working with disadvantaged elementary school children on their reading skills. She also volunteered for many years with Meals on Wheels, was a den mother for her son’s Cub Scout pack, served on numerous PTAs and volunteered with a number of community organizations.

Shirley was active in her churches including the First Presbyterian Church of Marion, OH and the First Presbyterian Church of Fremont, OH. At both she served as a Sunday School teacher, and was involved in many activities. She was a deacon and elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Fremont, OH.

She was a member of New Hope Reformed Church in Powell, OH after moving to Central Ohio several years ago. Shirley was a living example of unconditional love to her family, friends and everyone she met. She lived life with a positive attitude and overcame all hardships without complaint.

Throughout her life she served others following in the example of Jesus, her Savior. Shirley will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. We rejoice in knowing that she is with God and all of her loved ones.

In celebration of her life, a memorial service will take place at New Hope Church in Powell, Ohio at 11 am on March 30, 2019. Donations can be made, in lieu of flowers, to the Donovan G. and Shirley J. Schuster Endowed Fund at The Ohio State University or the New Hope Reformed Church Endowment Fund.
