Shirley’s Obituary Shirley Jean Hardimon was born September 21, 1949 in Grenada, Mississippi to Eldora Mack and Huston Hardimon, Sr. Shirley attended the Grenada Public Schools and Lewis and Clark Community College. She was employed as a nanny and caregiver of children for many years. She always gave back by giving donations to organizations and supporting small businesses.

Shirley had a heart of gold. She enjoyed shopping, church activities, reading her Bible, listening to gospel music, and spending time with her great nieces and nephews. Shirley professed her hope in Christ 2005 at Speak To The Rock Church, with Pastor Silas Braxton.

She was a faithful and devoted member of Deliverance Temple Complex Church Of God In Christ under Dr. Gregory L. Harrison. Sunday mornings you would find Sister Hardimon on the right side of the church, seated on the fourth pew, and enjoying worship and the Word of God preached by Pastor Harrison. Sister Shirley Jean Hardimon was called from labor to reward on Monday, February 11, 2019.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eldora Mack and Huston Hardimon, Sr.; grandparents ~ Harrison and Virgie (Harmon) Hardimon; son ~ Micheal Curtis Hardimon; and brothers ~ Victor Hardimon, Huston Hardimon, Jr., Herbert Hardimon, and Leon Stewart. Left to cherish her memories: sons ~ Houston “Ray” Hardimon and Brandon Hardimon; and daughter ~ Sara Hardimon-Sims; siblings ~ Norris Hardimon, Charlene (Orlando) Mc Shan, James Hardimon, Luke (Fiona) Hardimon, Sr., Elaine Hardimon, Margaret Hardimon, Daryl Hardimon, Sr., Hustina Newton, Dara (Dujuan) Joiner, and Florita (Tyrone) Foster; special nieces and nephew ~ Ed’Dree Alexander, Tyrese Hardimon, and “Dekota Hardimon”; 49 nieces and nephews, 88 great nieces and nephews, and 12 great great nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
