Shirley Josephine Ellsworth, age 80, of Leota, passed away September 8, 2018, at her home. She was born November 22, 1937, in Kemmerer, Wyoming, to Joseph William and Lavena Lillian Sanford Black. She married Merlin Robert Ellsworth on June 2, 1956, in Kemmerer.

He died November 11, 2003. Shirley was a homemaker who loved her family and taking care of them was her main priority. She always made sure everyone was overfed and that every need was met.

She enjoyed riding in her ranger, camping, and being in the outdoors. She was very independent, living most of the last fifteen years on her own out in the country. She had a stubborn and ornery streak that only endeared her to her family more.

She will be missed. Shirley is survived by her children, Kary (Chris) Ellsworth, Honeyville; Steven Ellsworth, Leota; Tracy Ellsworth, Magna; her mother, Lillian Torrey, Naples; grandchildren, Cori (Brandon) Nelson, Erik Ellsworth, Whitnee (Josh) Nielsen; Kaylee (Brady) Brown; great-grandchildren, Dakkota, Zoe, Bailey, Kenlee, Kayden, and Easton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin; daughter, Karlene Ellsworth; father, Joe Black; brother, Billy Black, and a grandson, Jerod Ellsworth.

Her wishes were to be cremated.
