Mrs. Sheehan, a daughter of the late John H. and Effie S. (MacKinnon) Kennedy passed away on Tuesday morning surrounded by her family after a long illness. She was 69.

Family was Shirley’s greatest love. She enjoyed bingo with her sisters, family card games, and casino trips to try her luck at the slot machines. Shirley spent 49 years with her husband, best friend, and partner in crime, drinking coffee, working on house projects of all sizes, and spending endless hours on soccer fields and at hockey rinks across the country to watch Susan and Michelle.

Shirley was an avid Boston sports fan and loved watching both the Bruins and Red Sox. She often reminded everyone that she needed to be home in time to watch the game. Whether she was watching Liam and Mackenzie swim in the pool and barrel down the waterslides or, more recently, keeping a close eye on Brendan as he started to laugh, smile, and find his toes; she absolutely loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She was famous for encouraging anyone who was making a difficult decision, she would tell you, “no guts, not glory”. We will always remember Shirley’s contagious smile, warm heart, and unwavering strength. Shirley is the beloved wife of Robert J. Sheehan.
