Shirley L. (Mengel) Herring, 88 of Kutztown died in West Reading May 8, 2018. She was the wife of the late Donald E. Herring. She was born in Hamburg the daughter of the late Stanley and Mabel (Seyfert) Mengel.

She is survived by son Timothy S. husband of Patricia, granddaughter Natalie, great grandchildren Alex and Preston, sisters Joan wife of Clair Miller, Barbara wife of Marvin Savage, Linda wife of Richard Weitzel, brothers Terry husband of Mary Ellen, Richard wife of Marie. She was pre-deceased by grandson Benjamin, sister Jean, brothers Donald and James. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church Kutztown.

Services will be Friday May 11, 2018 at 2pm in St John’s Lutheran Church 201 East Main Street, Kutztown. Visitation with the family 1pm till time of service. Interment in Hope Cemetery Kutztown.

In lieu of flowers contributions maybe made to the church. Edward J. Hildenbrand Funeral Home, Inc. Kutztown in charge of arrangements.
