Shirley Mae Reinmuth Erickson DeLong, 83, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2018, at the Pioneer Health Care Center in Rocky Ford. She was born on April 20, 1935 to Ralph R. & Kathryn (Schuler) Reinmuth in Dalton, Nebraska. Shirley attended grade school in Nebraska and then they moved to MO until she graduated from the 8th grade.

Then they moved back to Nebraska where she graduated high school in Bridgeport, Nebraska. Shirley married Clifford Draper in 1953 and they divorced… Read More » in 1957. She then married Jerry W. Erickson on June 6, 1959 until his death in 1993.

Then in August of 1999 she married Gerald DeLong until his death in 2017. Shirley lived her last years at Pioneer Health Care Center. She is survived by her children, Dorinda (Ron) Martinez of La Junta; Lorinda (Chris Gleason) Owen of La Junta; Jerri (Randy) Fritz of Las Animas; Richard Madrid of Eastland, Texas; David (Pat) DeLong of Rocky Ford; Debbie (Ray) Turner of Delta, CO; and Dennis (Janice) DeLong of Pueblo and she was blessed with multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, three brothers, four sisters, and two nieces and two nephews. A Celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Church of God in La Junta with Pastor Ed Kite officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Arkansas Valley Hospice, PO Box, 408, La Junta, CO 81050 direct or through the funeral home.
