Shirley Ann Yancey Klingbeil, 83, formerly of Marietta, GA, beloved wife of the late Dr. Robert T. Klingbeil, Sr., died Tuesday, April 10, 2018, in her home in Memphis, TN. Born in Atlanta, GA on January 8, 1935, she was the daughter of the late James and Louise Yancey. A graduate of Roosevelt High School in Atlanta, she proudly worked at Grady Memorial Hospital where she met her loving husband, Dr. Robert Klingbeil.

Together, they lived happily in Marietta, GA for 36 years lovingly raising their seven children before moving to Memphis in 2004 to be closer to their son, Robert Jr She was a voracious reader who loved to study history and stay abreast on world affairs. Her love of her pets and animals in general could only be exceeded by her love for her family.

She is survived by her children, Cliff Klingbeil, of Sandy Springs, GA; Debbie Sokol, of Susanville, CA; Melanie Kimball, of Rebecca, GA; Betsy Baumgartner, of Seaside, OR; Robyn Fritsche, of Scottsdale, AZ; Leslie Klingbeil, of Ocilla, GA; and Robert T. Klingbeil, Jr., of Spring Hill, TN. She also leaves behind her two brothers, James Yancey of Hilton Head, SC; Charles Yancey, of Columbus, GA; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cherished friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 1pm in the chapel at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mt.
