Sondra Leigh Reed, 64 of Hartly It is with great sadness that the family of Sondra Reed announces her passing after a sudden illness on Sunday, January 13, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at the young age of 64. Sondra was born June 14, 1954 in Staten Island, NY and moved to Delaware when she was a young child. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill where she retired in 2015 after 20 years of dedicated service.

Sondra will be lovingly remembered by her husband Richard of 40 years, their three children Richard Reed (Lianne), Jaime Yacucci (Anthony Sr.) and Jenna Reed, her step-daughter Shelly Johnson (Kenny), and her brother Mark VanderLee. Sondra will also be fondly remembered by her three grandchildren Brianna, Caleb and Anthony Jr., her step-grandchildren Kenny, Travis and Cassie, multiple nieces and nephews, and multiple feline children. Sondra is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Olive VanderLee, her sister Jerilyn Anderson and many well missed fur babies.

A Memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 1pm until the time of service 4pm at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE. Because Sondra did not like dressing up, the services will be casual dress. As Sondra was an avid cat lover and rescuer, the family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, memorial monetary contributions may be made to Purrfect Haven Cat Rescue at P.O. Box 1737 Dover, DE 19903.

The family is also asking that if possible, please bring pet supplies to the service that will in turn be donated to Delaware Humane Society.
