Sonia’s Obituary Sonia E. DeJesus, 74 of Meriden, passed away May 7, 2019 at MidState Medical Center after her long battle with cancer. She was born in Juan Diaz, Puerto Rico on May 18, 1944, a daughter of the late Juan and Arcelia (Santiago) DeJesus. Sonia loved being around her family and friends.

She enjoyed being in the kitchen and cooking all her famous and delicious dishes. She is survived by her children, Jessica Burdacki and her husband, Ted, Arcelia Mariani, Sonia Arocho, Carmen Arocho, Migdalia Arocho, and Juan Mariani, all of Meriden; her siblings, Juan DeJesus, Wilfredo DeJesus, and Carmen Gonzalez; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Maria and Virginia DeJesus.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext. , Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., when the funeral cortege will proceed to Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Meriden, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meriden.
