Obituary for Sonia M. Lopez Sonia M. Lopez, age 67, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on October 13, 2018. Sonia was born in Brooklyn, New York to Benita Amaro and Jacobo Lopez. As a child, the family moved to Puerto Rico, where she spent her formative years before moving to Florida for a brief time.

Sonia relocated to Massachusetts for many years before permanently moving to Port St. Lucie four years ago. She loved painting, but her greatest love was her family. Sonia was the loving mother of Alejandro Viera (Yari), Gilberto Rios (Johaira), Moraima Ramos (Juan), Yaritza Monge (Oscar), and Felix Monge; devoted daughter of Benita Amaro and the late Jacobo Lopez; adored grandmother of Joshua, Emely, Naomi, Ayleen, Michelle, Miguel, Melanie, Luis, Joseph, Leylanie, and Adrian; beloved sister of William Lopez, Nadia Lopez, and Luis Lopez; and many more nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
