Obituary for Mr. Stanley Eugene Marquardt Age 81, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018. Survived by his wife and partner of 32 years, Jean Jantzen of Inver Grove Heights, MN; his children Vicki (Dan) Poplaski of Lakewood, CO, Randy (Judy) Marquardt of Sarasota, FL, Jody (Don) Raml of Watertown, SD, Amy (Steve) Johnson of Minnetonka and stepchildren Kathy (Mark Black) Jantzen of Minneapolis, David (Maria) Jantzen of Mililani, HI; 22 beloved grandchildren, their spouses and significant others and 7 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters Gaylene (Bill) Miller of Courtenay BC, Jeanne (Steve) Bowling and sister-in-law Sheryel Marquardt of Lincoln, NE; former wife and his children’s mother, Phyllis (Jim) Iverson of Sioux Falls, SD; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Alice (Pubanz) and Harold Marquardt of Hebron, NE and brother Larry Marquardt of Lincoln. Stan was born June 14, 1937, in Hebron, NE. An outstanding athlete, lettering in football, baseball, basketball and track.

After attending Fairbury NE College, he worked for the co-op in Gresham, NE. His career in agricultural cooperatives spanned more than 40 years. He managed Poudre Valley Co-op in Fort Collins, CO for 11 years before joining Cenex in 1976.

He retired in 1999 as Vice President, Sales, Cenex/Land O’Lakes Agronomy Company. In retirement, he and Jean enjoyed their cabin near Fort Collins and traveled extensively. During retirement also worked for Showplace Theater in IGH and Enterprise Car Rental.

Stan will be remembered for his ability to put everyone around him at ease. He worked hard and was dedicated to his employees as well as his family. A celebration of his life will be held at Amazing Grace Lutheran Church, 7160 South Robert Trail, Inver Grove Heights on Sat.

, Oct. 20 at 11 am, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorials preferred to Amazing Grace or the Cure PSP Foundation.

The family thanks the dedicated staff at Norris Square, Cottage Grove for their love and care for Stan these past two years. You enriched his life – and ours. Upcoming Events Visitation , OCT 20.
