Prior to working for G.M., he worked as a butcher at H.A. Smith and Vogt Packing Company. His first love other than wife Barb and family was Indian lore, which he shared with everyone. His enthusiasm for Indian lore got him involved in the sport of Muzzle loading and historical reenactment in the early 1960’s.

When Tom crossed over to Boy Scouting Stan became an assistant scoutmaster (quartermaster, merit badge counselor and mentor to the boys). When his great grandsons decided to join scouting Stan and wife Barb established and led Cub Scout Pack 31. One of his greatest joys in scouting was receiving the Silver Beaver Award and seeing his Grandson Tom and Great Grandson Nick receive their Eagle Scout Rank.

Stan also liked Camping in his Teepee, which led to his joining the Family Campers and RVers Flint Stones Chapter. Stan led a rich and full life he was loved and liked by all who knew him he truly enjoyed sharing stories and tall tales.
