ELLINGTON, Stella Esserline “Puddin” was born October 28, 1936 to the late Stewart E. and Lula B. (Wilson) Harrison in Tutwiler, Mississippi. She received her heavenly reward on June 10, 2018 at Grandview Hospital. She married the late Jay D. Ellington, Sr. and relocated to Dayton, OH in 1965.

She was a member of Bible Class Missionary Baptist Church. She faithfully worked for the Dayton Board of Education for over 25 years before retiring. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by three daughters, Sylvia Ann Allen, Linda Harrison and Evangeline Jones; two sons, Joseph Allen, Jr. and Therone Harrison; five brothers, MacArthur Sr., James Roy Sr., Lester Sr., William Sr. and Eddie Harrison; one sister, LaVerne Ferrell.

She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her legacy, four children, Robert (Angress) Harrison, Jimmie Lee Allen, Vernice (Eddie) Owens and Jay Ellington, Jr.; 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; five siblings, Emma Evans, Lorraine Harrison, Rev. Johnny (Ann) Harrison, Gloria (Birley) Gipson and Dorothy (James) Moses; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral service 11 am Monday, June 18, 2018 at Bible Class M. B. Church, 3032 Hoover Ave.

Pastor Marvin S. Arnold, Sr. officiating. Visitation 9-11 am. Family will receive friends 10-11 am.

Internment Jeffersonview Cemetery.
