Obituary for Stephen “Beaver” Scardina Scardina, Stephen “Beaver” Beloved husband of Lisa (nee Kramer) Scardina. Cherished brother of Susan Scardina, Michael “Judge” Scardina, Pat (Andy) Olding, and Nancy (Jack) Daniels. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Passed away December 15th at the age of 63. A prayer service will begin at 1:30pm on Wednesday December 19th followed by a celebration of life at the home of Andy and Pat Olding 3615 Clifton Ave Cincinnati, Ohio 45220. ) Street is also available on Resor Ave. Beaver Beaver was a Price Hill boy, went to Holy Family, Elder and played BIG10 football at Northwestern. He had more than one run in with Woody and the Buckeyes, Notre Dame, Michigan and Nebraska.
He was tough and fearless…but at the same time kind and always there for those in need. He lived life to the fullest and at the early age of 4 earned his nickname Beaver…he grew up fast. He learned to take three buses across town to the Cincinnati Zoo by the 3rd grade and rode his bicycle to the Indianapolis 500 from Cincinnati in the 7th grade with his brother, sleeping in a corn field on the two day trip.
Beave spent his life doing the things he loved. He did it all with passion, perfection and skill. He was a race tracker at heart, worked the backside, grandstand and mutuels.
Beaver did woodwork at his pace and at a standard to last forever. He owned “JR & Scar’s Bar” across from Dempsey Park and three blocks from his childhood home. Beave had musical talent…self taught and a teacher he played both the piano and the guitar by ear.
He tried out for “America’s Got Talent” twice and was gunning for a third. He dealt Black Jack and knew when to hold ‘em and when to fold ‘em. To the Kramer family Beaver was always the life of the party.
They loved to hear him sing and play the guitar at the family parties. They appreciated his love for life, Bud Light and occasional gin and Tonic. They admired the fight inside of him.
To the kids he was everyone’s favorite “Uncle Beaver”. To his sisters and brother he was and meant everything. To Sue he was uncompromising and steadfast to Pat he was the there, reliable dependable to Nancy he was compassionate and fun and to Mike (Judge) his brother he was his best friend, they traveled through life’s many adventures as one, fought many battles together and only lost one.
