Guinta, 50, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 at home. He was born in Rahway and was a life long resident of Rahway. Mr. Guinta was a 1987 Rahway High School Graduate.

Steve was a retired Rahway Police Office retiring in 2015. After retiring Steve started a new career as a Chef. He was a member of the Rahway PBA Local 31, a member of the Policemen Honor Guard, Community Assistance Team, a member of the D.A.R.E.

, Youth Academy, he was one of the founding members and the Police Explorers for many years. He was a member of the 200 Club of Union County. Prior to that he worked as a Rahway Housing Authority Security Office and the Rahway Police Auxiliary.

His passion was cooking and was the “Grill Master”. Steven had a tremendous heart, no one could do anything wrong and he believed in everyone. He was an avid Yankee Fan and a very caring person.

He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, nephew, friend and will be dearly missed by all including his brothers in blue. Mr. Guinta is predeceased by his father and mother John Guinta and Anne Gibson, his step father Byron “Scott” Gibson, his mother in law – Carmen Nieves and his grandmother in law and grandfather in law, Carmen & Jesus Hernandez. He is survived by his wife of 7 years Lydia E. (Alves) Guinta, two daughters, Diana Kunz and Stephanie Guinta, three step sons, James Robinson, Theodore Robinson and David Forsythe, three step daughters Amanda Rodriquez, Victoria Perez and Alexus Forsythe, three sisters, Joanne Guinta, Christi James and Colleen Holloway, four brothers, John, James Guinta, Byron Scott Gibson Jr. and Charles Gibson, seven grandchildren.

Also survived by several nieces, nephews and many friends, his faithful companions Bella and Thor. Funeral services will take place on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Lehrer-Gibilisco Funeral Home, 275 West Milton Avenue, Rahway, NJ. Visitation on Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 4-8 pm at the funeral home.

Visitation also on Friday, May 10, 2019 from 9-11 am at the funeral home. Interment Rosedale Cemetery, Linden, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the his wife Lydia.
