Obituary for Steven “Coach” E. Leake Steven E. Leake “Coach”, 68, of Matoaca, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, January 17, 2019. Steve was born June 13, 1950, to the late Eugene and Mary Leake. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Mary Lyon.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Donna Lyon Leake; two sons, Michael Leake and Matthew Leake (Jessica Griffin); two sisters, Nancy Gonzalez and Shirley Hendricks (David); one brother, Larry Leake; and many other loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Steve coached baseball and football for many years at Matoaca High School and for little league organizations. He retired from Dupont after 30 years.

After Steve retired from Dupont he worked for several years with the parks and recreation department of Colonial Heights. He was also a big New York Yankees fan and supported the team for many years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, 320 New Castle Drive, Colonial Heights, Va.
