Steven Dale Marchant passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on May 9, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada after battling with his health for many years. He was born in Coalville, Utah on March 10, 1958 to Alan Dale and AlVerda Marchant. Steven grew up on his family farm in Peoa, Utah where he learned to work hard and was an avid athlete in high school sports.
He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Japan Fukuoka Mission. He graduated from Snow College where he played football and earned his associate’s degree, and then graduated from Utah State University, earning his bachelor’s degree in business administration with two minors in Japanese and production management. Steven met his best friend and the love of his life, Lisa Ann Cooper, while at Utah State University.
They were married on March 17, 1982 in the Salt Lake City Temple for time and all eternity. They moved their young family to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1989, where Steven began a 30-year career with Western States Contracting Company, Inc. Steven influenced thousands and will be remembered by all who knew him for his perfect example of strength, love, patience, and service. The Gospel of Jesus Christ and his family were everything to him, and his roles as husband, father, and grandfather were his true passions in life.
He served faithfully for many years in many church callings. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, whether on the baseball field, at Disneyland, or at home. Steven is survived by his loving wife, Lisa; his four children, Brandon (Holly), Ashley, Logan (Kristen), Tyler (Whitney); his six grandchildren, Jackson, Hunter, Weston, Kendalyn, Brynley, and Dash all of Las Vegas, NV; three brothers and one sister: Alan (Kathy) of MD; Lloyd (Sue) of UT; Kelly (Becky) of UT; Holly (Nelson) Henk of TX; numerous in-laws, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Michael. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Tule Springs Stake Center, 6051 Dorrell Lane, Las Vegas, NV. Visitation will be Friday, May 17, 2019 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Thom Chapel, 8525 Thom Blvd.
