Obituary for Steven Fritz Steven A. Fritz, 49, of East Stroudsburg, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018 at home. He was born in Queens, New York, to Lorraine (Laxton) Fritz and the late Arthur Fritz.

Steven was of Catholic faith. He had resided in the Stroudsburg area for the past 35 years. Steven was a loving father to two wonderful children, Nicholas Fritz, age 28, of Albrightsville and Courtney Fritz, age 24, of Greenville, SC.

He was the greatest Pop Pop to his grandchild, Salem Fritz, age 6, of Shickshinny. He lived with his girlfriend of 10 years, Bobbie Jo Fritz, age 37, and her two children, Arthur Fritz, age 12, and Brianna Fritz, age 18. He helped care for Arthur and Brianna along side his brother (their father) Keith Fritz, age 45.

He is survived by his best friend/brother Stacy Bridges (Bubby) who is a lifelong friend and companion. He will truly be missed by his close friend Kevin Norman. Steven had many friends growing up.

He enjoyed working on cars with them and his dad. He used to love riding his motorcycle along side his boys back in the day in the beautiful summer weather. He enjoyed his nights hanging out in his garage sipping on Natty Ice and Jack Daniels with all of his closest friends.

He enjoyed shooting targets with his son and occasionally his daughter. He spent his weekends with his kids playing with four wheelers and watching Scooby-Doo. He spent all of his money on candy and ice cream for them even when he had no money at all.

In the summer he relaxed in the pool, enjoyed camping, and loved going to the beach and swimming in the ocean late at night. Every night he used to make a bon fire and his family and friends would gather around and they’d laugh, joke, and cry all through the night. There wasn’t a single person he met that he did not like.

He would do absolutely anything for anybody even if they could not return the favor. He loved his entire family with all of his heart, despite any unresolved issues. His favorite holiday was Christmas.

He loved decorating the tree, baking cookies, and whaling out Christmas carols all through the night. In recent years his body started to give up on him. He was in immense pain and suffered every day of his life.

He could no longer work on cars, ride a motorcycle, work or do the things he loved. He took too many medications to relieve the pain. He didn’t have money to spend on his children or go on vacations that he loved.

He shut his friends out because he didn’t want them to remember him as helpless. He ultimately felt alone and afraid. Steven just wants his friends, old and new, and family to remember him how he used to be: strong, brave, and a great man.

He was nothing short of absolutely wonderful. It it with a sad heart to write this, but in our hearts he will live on as strong, brave, and a great man. “Try to understand, try to understand, try, try, try to understand, he’s a Magic Man”.
