OBITUARY Steven Godfrey July 28, 1971 – October 12, 2018 Steven “Pookie” Godfrey, 47, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Pookie worked as an application analyst for AT&T for 11 years. Previously Pookie worked at Comcast.

He taught early childhood development at Crescent Avenue Church. He enjoyed photography, music and being at the lake. Above all Pookie enjoyed spending time with his family, and friends.

Surviving are his father and step-mother, Larry and Beverly Godfrey; god-daughter, Sierra Green; step-sister, Charity Tarr; step-brother, Richard Lyon II; aunt Lynn Valentine; eight nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his by his mother, Judy Godfrey; brothers, Lawrence and John Allen Godfrey; and sister, Sandra Lynn Godfrey. A celebration of life for Pookie will be Saturday, October 19, 2018 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm in his home.
