Steven J. Chmiel, 63, of Canonsburg, died Monday, October 1, 2018. He was born December 8, 1954, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Stanley and Frances Ciesla Chmiel. Steven was Catholic.

Prior to his retirement, he worked in the construction industry. Steven enjoyed traveling and loved his life adventures. Fishing, and gardening were among his favorite pastimes.

Surviving are his brother, Michael (Joanne) Chmiel, of Monongahela; sister, Nancy (Patrick Shannon) Chmiel, of Canonsburg; nieces and nephews, Michelle (Jim) Timmons, John Chmiel, Rachael (Kirk Wilkens) Chmiel, and Michael Chmiel, Jr., two great-nieces and nephews, Bishop and Justice. Friends will be received, Wednesday, from 9:30 to 11:30am at the Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, J. David Sollon, director, 724-746-1000. Departing prayers will be held in the funeral home, at 11:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Noon, in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg.

Interment will follow in the St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg. Please visit www. sollon.com to leave online condolences.
