Steven Michael Overkamp, 64, of Jonesburg, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019 at his home. Steve was born in Mexico, Missouri on October 27, 1954, a son of the late Frank & Helen (Korman) Overkamp. He was the husband of Mary B. (Henderson) Overkamp.

They were together for a total of 35 years. Mary survives at their home. He is also survived by a step son, James Dale Mincher, of New Florence, Missouri; a grandson, Jake Mincher, a brother, Jim Overkamp, of Effingham, Illinois; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Anthony “Andy” & Harlan Overkamp. Steve worked for Monsanto for many years after he was in a car accident in 1972. He was raised in Jonesburg, then moved to his home off Hwy Y with the love of his life, Mary.

He loved country life and being around the creeks, trees, and all the wildlife around him. That was Steve, loving all that nature had to offer. He also loved going out for long drives in the country at night, going fishing & boating, riding his four wheeler and spending time with his family, when he wasn’t messing around with cars.

I guess you could say he was a car enthusiast. He loved being a grandpa to Jake and his favorite drink of all time was Sundrop. He will be missed by all of his family and friends who crossed his path.

A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, May 7th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin’s Church, Starkenburg, Missouri. Burial will be at St. Martin’s Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Martin’s Church or St. Martin’s Cemetery.
