OBITUARY Steven Virag November 28, 1932 – December 30, 2018 Steven Virag, November 28, 1932 – December 30, 2018, Blooming Grove, NY Steven Virag of Blooming Grove, survivor of the Holocaust and escapee of Communist oppression during the Hungarian Revolution, dies at 86. Steven, who died with his family at his side, was a of strength and love to those fortunate enough to have known him. He chose inspiration over anguish.

He chose to live by example in a time when words wash away like the rain. Steven is survived by Gail, his wife of 59 years. A marriage defined by the holding of hands and the look in the eye.

She was his “Becky”. He is also survived by his three sons, Edward and fiancee, Lori Moskowitz, son Garry and son, Ron Weintraub, who his name changed back to the family original surname, dangerous in Nazi occupied Hungary. Steven fled persecution to the United States, while twin brother, Lazlo, now deceased, and family sought refuge in Venezuela.

The family would not be complete without Ann Farsetta, Ron’s long-time love and cherished family member, deceased, 2/27/18. The family will be sitting shiva Jan. 1,2,3 from 2pm to 8pm.

They request that donations be made to Jewish Family Services.
