Sue Elaine Stevenson, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Sue was born September 10, 1952 in Ottawa Kansas, to the late Joe and Nona (Martin) Pavlacic. She enjoyed a wide range of interests and activities including hunting, fishing, horseback riding, motorcycle riding, knitting, crocheting and china painting.

Sue was of the Methodist faith, and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be deeply missed by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, David Howard, brothers, Gary, Dallas and Keith Vanvalkenburg, and a sister, Judee Thornbrough. Sue is survived by her husband, Raymond Stevenson; a son, Troy Stevenson (wife, Sherry); a daughter, Michele Teboe; a brother, Harry Vanvalkenburg (wife, Virginia); eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The family will gather to celebrate Sue’s life on Saturday, June 1, 2019, from 3-5 PM at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Sue’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or a children’s charity of your choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.
