Susan C. Ritchie (nee Buda) of Cherry Hill, NJ, died October 30, 2018. Age 59. Loving mother of Lauren and Scott Ritchie both of Mantua, NJ.

Dear daughter of Alice E. Buda of Cherry Hill, NJ and the late John J. Buda. Devoted sister of John Buda of Cleveland, OH and Caryn Hank of Chicago, IL. Susan was born on July 29, 1959 in New York.

She earned a Bachelors degree in Nursing from the University of Delaware and began her nursing career at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Susan specialized in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery nursing care, working with premature and very sick infants.

It always uplifted her spirits and gave her great joy to attend reunions with these children when they returned to the hospital after they reached one or two years old to thank the nurses for their compassionate and skilled care. After college she met and fell in love with Greg Ritchie, whom she married and with whom she had her two wonderful children: Lauren and Scott. She enjoyed all their family activities from soccer games to dance recitals when they were young.

She also enjoyed furnishing her home, planting gardens, and playing with their yellow Lab, Angel. As her life unfolded, she went to live with her mother, Alice, with whom she has spent the last several years. Susan enjoyed reading mysteries, watching movies, riding her bike, talking with friends, and decorating and celebrating the holidays.

But most of all, Susan loved, loved, and loved her family. Her kids and extended family were constantly forefront in her mind, in kind and generous ways. She will be missed for her laughter and sense of humor, for her thoughtfulness, and for her own, unique personality.

Relatives and friends are invited attend the viewing Saturday morning 9:30 to 10:15am in The Schetter Funeral Home, 304 W. Marlton Pike, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002. Funeral services 10:30am. Interment Laurel Memorial Park, Pomona, NJ.
